PhD Scholar, Climate Dynamics Lab

About Me

I'm Charudatt Puri, a Ph.D. Scholar at the Climate Dynamics Lab within the Centre for Atmospheric Sciences (CAS) at IIT Delhi. My doctoral research involves exploring the dynamics behind the genesis of synoptic-scale Monsoon Low-Pressure Systems (LPSs)-transient vortices embedded within the broader monsoon flow. I investigate these fascinating phenomena by integrating observational data, advanced data analysis techniques, and the construction of idealized modeling experiments using Global Climate Models (GCMs).

Prior to my Ph.D., I was a JRF in IDPCS at IIT Bombay, where I worked with regional model to simulate and study extreme rainfall events. Beyond my core research, I'm also deeply interested in understanding the complex entanglement of various climate systems and unraveling their hidden rhythms.
